As young adults in the midst of a growing, diverse, and at times chaotic populous in Northern Virginia, we recognize the unending need for a faith-based community where meaningful friendships and spiritual growth are fostered. If you share in this need for a Christ-following community, you're more than encouraged to come visit any of our events below. The Bridge Builders events are local to our particular bi-campus church, whereas the Bi-District Young Adults events are events we participate in with other young adult ministries in both the Alexandria and Arlington District of the United Methodist Church.
Bridge Builders Events
Sunday School
When: Sunday mornings at 11 AM
Where: Room 302 at the Manassas St. Thomas UMC campus

Description: On Sunday mornings we offer participants a chance to engage in Biblical or topical study in a discussion-oriented fellowship environment. We conduct different seasonal studies over time, so check back to see what we are currently discussing. Our current study is:
Churchmorph by Eddie Gibbs, a book which discusses the emerging trends in our Christian landscape and how we as a church can fulfill the Great Commision in lieu of the nuances of our generation's culutural shifts.
Monday Night Fellowship
When: Monday evenings at 6:15 PM
Where: The home of Josh and Karen Thom (inquire for address)
Description: Monday nights are chances for us to come together and share a meal, our lives, and our reflections on our relationship with God. We typically start dinner at 6:15 PM and then resume with our devotional meeting time afterwards. If you're looking to be a part of our growing faith community, please contact us out by e-mailing Ryan Held (rheld@vt.edu).

The study book may be purchased at www.cokesbury.com or www.amazon.com for less than $15.
Please email Ryan Held (rheld@vt.edu) for more information if you are interested (exact room location for 3/17 is TBD). St Paul UMC and Manassas St Thomas UMC are both part of the Bi-District Young Adult Round Table (BidYART) group, which meets monthly to plan events for young adults in the Alexandria and Arlington Districts of the UMC. We would love to involve more local UMC young adult groups, no matter how big or small.
